BILL WELLS TRIO

Typically, Bill Wells' music would be characterised by a tendency towards structured chaos; Bill safely ensconsed at its epicentre, prompting the other musicians with a malevolent Hitchcock grin. But Incorrect Practice is a different mood altogether from the robust legend that we now recognise as the Bill Wells Octet, because here the other musicians are permitted, encouraged even, to tune into the same rare moment. The resulting set is a dreamy sequence of fast-fading polaroids, conveying the burnt-out grandeur of decadent false memories, after-party comedowns and 4am walks through the Scottish countryside.
