Rain On Lens has a similar feel to y2k's Dongs Of Sevotion. It pushes against the fully orchestrated production he enjoyed with Jim O'Rourke on 1997's Red Apple Falls and 98's Knock Knock, but is sharper and more focussed than his earlier records, leaving us with a maturer sounding (Smog); wisdom a-plenty.
