Originally conceived as an artistic movement, Weird War turned to music and terror when the static medium proved unsuitable. A volatile organisation, its means of production are intentionally unorthodox: "We pick material at random, a poem by the painter Marsden Hartley, a caricature by a newspaper cartoonist, Goldberg, some banal slogans. Someone gave us a photo of a woman's leg in a too-tight shoe; we add some equivocal riffs and lyrics from our own files."
