The first issue of Loops, the landmark collaboration between two Independents - Domino and Faber - is available from Thursday July 2nd. Combining a deep passion and knowledge of pop music, pop culture and literature, Loops is an astonishing new journal dedicated to engaging, intelligent and diverse writing about music.
 
Loops issue 1 contains contributions as diverse as a previously unpublished feature by Nick Kent on Nick Drake from 1978, a piece by James Yorkston about his influences called Perfect Button Drumming, an essay on Spacemen 3 by Richard Milward and an extract from Nick Cave’s new novel The Death Of Bunny Munro.

To celebrate the first issue, Domino and Faber held a launch party at Rough Trade East in London last week. It turned out to be a very special event, with readings from Chris Kellen, Hari Kunzru and Simon Armitage; a live performance from James Yorkston and a DJ set from Jon Hopkins.
