Hyper-creative, acclaimed ‘gypsy brewer’ Mikkeller has partnered with Domino & Ribbon Music artists to create a series of custom, limited edition brews, each lovingly and collaboratively flavored, designed, and produced over the course of the last 12 months.
The brews incorporate artists’ favorite flavor profiles, and each artist involved has worked with the Mikkeller brewing team and art director to make a recipe that represents their tastes – both aesthetically and fundamentally.
The first two brews made available for purchase come courtesy of Hamilton Leithauser and The Pastels.
Hamilton Leithauser, lead singer of The Walkmen, released his debut solo album Black Hours via Ribbon Music in June of last year.
Seminal Glaswegian band The Pastels released Slow Summits via Domino in 2013.
Beers created by White Lung and Real Estate will soon be available. Stay tuned for more in the series.
The beer is available via Mikkeller’s regular distributors, on their website, and in their Mikkeller-owned bars. Some beers may also be made available in selected restaurants and bars globally.
Mikkeller is an award-winning microbrewery founded in Copenhagen in 2006, which has stockists in more than 40 countries worldwide. Their style of brewing is considered very unique - their experimentation with flavor and their sometimes very limited runs of product has earned them a cult following globally. Mikkeller is consistently ranked in the top 5 breweries in the world.

Porches, the recording project of New York-based Aaron Maine, today announces the new album, Pool, set for release on February 5, 2016, via Domino. Written and recorded in his Manhattan apartment, Pool is an elegantly drawn set of gorgeous, synth-driven pop songs, expanding on and re-articulating the melancholy we’ve come to know from previous single releases on Terrible (2014’s Prism), Birdtapes (2013’s Townie Blunt Guts) and Seagreen (2014’s Leather), and a full length on Exploding in Sound (2013’s Slow Dance In The Cosmos).
Additionally, Porches today shares a video for the current single ‘Hour’, which was released digitally on October 8. Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz (Blood Orange, Danny Brown, St. Vincent, Petite Noir), the video stars Maine and Kline as star-crossed lovers on a night excursion. Watch the video now below.
Says Del Rio Ortiz of the clip:
"I wanted to create a simple but hallucinogenic montage dealing with a love affair that no longer exists but would never vanish. On the surface we see a young couple driving around the city and sneaking into a swimming pool. However we also see nostalgic imagery that creates a feeling of loss and illustrates a severed relationship."
Pool isPorches’ debut full-length for Domino and a major step forward for Maine —as an evolving singer/songwriter, and as a nascent producer. Written and recorded almost entirely in the Manhattan apartment he shares with his partner and collaborator, Greta Kline a.k.a Frankie Cosmos, and mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Grizzly Bear, Tobias Jesso Jr) in Los Angeles, Pool was influenced, in part, by settling in the city as an artist and a person. “I’m feeling like I’m in a more permanent situation than I’ve been in before,” he says. “There is something special about recording at home. It’s why it sounds the way it does. Being able to obsess over it on your own time and being in your own little cube knowing you’re surrounded by the city, being able to go so deep into it and to spend hours building it, loving it: all of that allowed me to reflect and focus on things a little closer.”
Pool is available to pre-order now on limited pressing coke bottle clear vinyl, CD, and digital download.
Porches will be taking off on an extensive 2016 North American tour in support of Pool, starting March 9 in Washington, DC. The tour is a co-headline with label-mate Alex G, and will feature Your Friend, another fellow Domino artist, on support for all dates. Tickets to all shows will be on sale tomorrow, Friday November 20 with further international live dates to be announced soon.

Following the release of her richly acclaimed new album Have You In My Wilderness, Julia Holter is sharing the video for the album’s latest single, Silhouette, directed by Rick Bahto. Watch the video now below.
Alongside the video, Holter has announced a new run of UK live dates for 2016 including London’s Oval Space on 15th February, whichfollows a lauded sold out performance at Islington Assembly Hall earlier this month. All forthcoming live dates are listed below with all UK and European dates highlighted in bold. Tickets for all 2016 dates go on sale at 10am GMT Thursday 19th November.
Have You In My Wilderness is available on CD (WIGCD341), digital (WIG341D) and LP (WIGLP341). The album includes the singles ‘Feel You’ (watch the video HERE) and ‘Silhouette’ (watch the video HERE) as well as previously released tracks ‘Sea Calls Me Home’ (watch the video HERE) and ‘Betsy On The Roof’ (listen to the official audio HERE).
Taryn Miller, aka Your Friend, is today pleased to share the first taste of new music since last year’s debut EP, in the form of new song ‘Heathering’.
The brooding, elegantly haunted track marks a new chapter in Miller’s career – one that will be fully revealed with the release of her debut full-length, titled Gumption, on January 29th, 2016 via Domino.
The release of ‘Heathering’ comes just ahead of Miller’s participation in the Red Bull Music Academy in Paris, during which she will participate in the Cosmorama event, to be held next Tuesday, November 17th, alongside like-minded artists sitting at the musical intersection of lush electronica and indie-inflected pop music.
Since the release of her debut self-recorded EP, Jekyll/Hyde, in early 2014, Taryn Miller has experienced many firsts as an artist – her first tour (with Courtney Barnett), her first SXSW (in 2014, in support of the EP release), and her first time working in a proper studio with a producer. And now, the 24-year-old who resides in Lawrence, Kansas and makes music under the moniker Your Friend, begins the process of another first – the release of her debut full length album, Gumption.
Miller began writing the songs that would become Gumption at her studio space and apartment in Lawrence, Kansas after returning from touring in mid-2014. As a part of the album’s process, Miller acquired a field recorder that she used to explore sound from a familiar place. She took it to her family farm in Dexter, KS and drove around, dipping her senses into childhood nostalgia.
From there, she started recording with producer Nicolas Vernhes (The War on Drugs, Deerhunter) at the Rare Book Room in Brooklyn, which helped Your Friend fulfill a penchant for drones, loops and found sounds. “I paid attention to textures,” Miller says. “I was trying to remove myself from an approach that I had followed before, but still wanted to bring in that melodic element that is most inherent to me, and marry it with a more sonically meditative landscape.”
Gumption deals with the dualities and nuances of human interaction, and questions how much we, as individuals, are responsible for in the ways we are perceived. It’s a record of courage, as its title suggests - of having the willingness to make necessary shifts, and to have a sense of self-awareness that ultimately leads to growth.
Gumption will be available on CD and standard LP via the Domino Mart. Pre-order the album from the Domino Mart HERE or iTunes HERE and receive an instant download of ‘Heathering’. The standard LP comes in a single jacket with a printed inner sleeve and is accompanied by a MP3 download card.
Yorkston/Thorne/Khan release their collaborative debut album ‘Everything Sacred’ on Friday the 15th of January 2016. Listen to their cover of Ivor Cutler’s ‘Little Black Buzzer’ featuring the trio joined by the superb and distinctive young Irish singer Lisa O’Neill below.
Yorkston/Thorne/Khan are an experimental group that includes James Yorkston, one of the most “influential singer/songwriters on the Scottish folk scene”, Suhail Yusuf Khan, award winning sarangi player and classical singer from New Delhi and Jon Thorne, best known as jazz double bass player with electro outfit Lamb.
This is Scottish-Irish-Indian-English music in the raw, Yorkston's familiar steel guitar strings pulled, pushed and bent into more unfamiliar acoustic drones, the bass dropping anchors through the floor. Rather than world music per se, this sounds more idiosyncratic, a temporary structure bivouacking by the side of the indie-folk, art music tradition, while its widening horizons extend back to the Sixties heyday of the Incredible String Band, and forward to this singular album's satellite orbit over the folk music, Indian classical and indie music of today – all these musical ley lines threaded into a new kind of eclectic, domestic setting.
“Playing together as Yorkston / Thorne / Khan, we tackle a wide array of different sounds and songs. Alongside pieces of our own, there’s a fair chunk of improvisation, plus covers of Ivor Cutler’s ‘Little Black Buzzer’ and Lal Waterson’s ‘Song For Thirza’. Jon’s jazz back-ground definitely comes to the fore, as does Suhail’s devotional singing and outstanding sarangi playing. I just do my best to keep up…” – James Yorkston
‘Everything Sacred’ will be available on CD (WIGCD367), Standard LP (WIGLP367), Deluxe LP (WIGLP367X) and digitally. The Deluxe LP features a die cut sleeve with a bonus 7” featuring exclusive tracks ‘Peggio’ and ‘The Blues You Sang’ with download card. You can pre-order the album via Dom Mart HERE and iTunes HERE.
The band will be performing the following shows in 2016 - more to follow soon:
Jan 18th - Anstruther Dreel Halls
Jan 19th - Glasgow Celtic Connections
28th Feb - Komedia, Bath
You can also find details of James Yorkston’s forthcoming solo shows HERE.
Many Moons, the debut solo album from Martin Courtney, is out now on Domino. The bright, lush, 10-song collection of soft psychedelia, which was previewed during a string of CMJ shows earlier this month, further cements the Real Estate frontman’s talent for writing deceptively affecting songs – jangly, melancholic jams touching on themes of past and present, loss and love, home and the heart.
Today, Courtney is sharing a cover of Pavement’s ‘Major Leagues’. Recorded as part of a Sirius XMU session, the video can be viewed now below.
Courtney also recorded a live session for KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic, which will air November 19th. In advance of that date, you can watch the performance of single ‘Airport Bar’ HERE.
Martin Courtney will follow his successful run of CMJ shows from last month- which included a performance at the Fader Fort, a Brooklyn Vegan showcase at Baby’s All Right, a WFUV showcase at Rockwood Music Hall, and a KEXP “Live From The Cutting Room session”- with a show at new Brooklyn venue National Sawdust on November 20th, and a short West Coast run in January 2016.

“Many Moons works as a remarkably cohesive album, meandering its way across themes of past and present to a state of aching clarity that's modest, but no less genuine for it.”- PITCHFORK
“Lush, but with space to breath”- THE GUARDIAN
“A shimmering slice of sun-streaked pop” DROWNED IN SOUND
Many Moons is available on CD, standard and limited edition LP on Domino. The limited edition LP (of 500) contains an alternate cover with an embossed jacket, featuring an artist logo designed by Robert Beatty and coke-bottle clear colored vinyl.
Today, the unstoppable electronic-pop duo Bob Moses premiered the official video for their wildly popular and infectious new track “Tearing Me Up.” The track – taken from their critically acclaimed debut album Days Gone By (out now on Domino) – has garnered more than half a million plays on Soundcloud alone, reaching the #1 position on Hype Machine three times in the space of just a few weeks, and continues to receive praise from fans and critics since its worldwide debut on World First by Zane Lowe on Apple Beats1.
The video was directed by Zack Spiger, was shot in Paris, and can be watched below.
This summer and autumn, Bob Moses (a.k.a Jimmy Vallance and Tom Howie) have been trotting the globe, headlining sold out shows across North America, Europe and the UK – the band are returning to London to headline at Village Underground on the 26th of November.
Their debut album Days Gone Byhas won critics across the board with Billboard Magazine noting them as having the “authenticity to appease genre purists, yet the lyrical depth to attract non-electronic fans,” Entertainment Weekly praised the duo for serving up “one of the year’s most chilled-out, enveloping electro-pop albums” whilst industry critic Bob Lefsetz announced in his newsletter that they reminded him of “The Beatles testing the limits in 1966.”
Bill Ryder-Jones is streaming acclaimed new album West Kirby County Primary in full ahead of its release on 6th November. Listen now via NPR First Listen.
Alongside the album stream, a new video for album track ‘Catharine and Huskisson’, directed by James Slater, is streaming now – watch the video below. The new video follows Slater’s videos for the albums lead single ‘Two To Birkenhead’ (watch HERE) and ‘Satellites’ (watch HERE).
West Kirby County Primary, the third full-length album from multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer, Bill Ryder-Jones, is the follow-up to A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart and was written and recorded by Ryder-Jones in his childhood bedroom at his mother’s house in West Kirby before being filtered through Liverpool’s legendary Parr Street Studios. A classic band record, West Kirby County Primary features Bill playing a multitude of instruments including the electric guitar with his trademark prowess.
Mixed by James Ford, each of West Kirby County Primary’sten tracks offers a sneaked glance into his private world; they eavesdrop on a set of encounters that go about “turning stories into beautiful truth” set to glorious molten melody that explodes like fireworks over water. It all adds up to a remarkable record by one of our most cherished musicians – a musical polymath as at ease on stage with the Manchester Camerata (where he performed ‘If…’ as part of the Manchester Literature Festival last Autumn) or on live guitar duties with Arctic Monkeys as he is on production duties with Hooton Tennis Club and The Wytches.
Bill Ryder-Jones will be performing live throughout the UK in November with a sold out date at The Lexington in London on 11th November. New UK live dates have been announced for March including Scala in London on 3rd March 2016. on Full dates with ticket links are as follows with headline dates in bold:
West Kirby County Primary will be available on CD (WIGCD346), Digital (WIG346D) and LP (WIGLP346). There will also be a Dom Mart and indie shop exclusive Deluxe LP (WIGLP346X) which comes with a bonus 7” featuring two exclusive new tracks. Pre-order the Deluxe Vinyl edition on Dom Mart and for a very limited period also receive a signed and numbered photo-print taken from the stage at this year’s Green Man Festival. Pre-order the album via Dom Mart HERE and via iTunes HERE with an instant grat of Two To Birkenhead.
The Bohicas have launched the action packed video for their new single ‘The Making Of’ – watch the video below. Directed by Ozzie Pullin, the video features lead singer Dominic McGuinness dealing with a personal struggle of a very unique kind.
Pullin conceived the idea and worked with the band on how to pull it all together, enlisting McGuinness as the main protagonist.
"For me the concept is all about the battle we have with each other as individuals and I wanted to explore this idea in a kind of purgatory way, in that it's never ending. It's something we have to deal with through our lives. So when the band were keen on the concept, I knew we could make something special that we all were happy with. I couldn't have asked for more from the guys, they absolutely killed it, that completely shows in the final product", says director Pullin.
McGuinness’ acting debut made for epic behind the scenes viewing: “I basically got the crap kicked out of me by the stunt double all day as my bandmates watched on in hysterics. Luckily, it looks like I’m throwing all the punches in the final video so we did what we set out to do!”
It’s been a busy time for the band; recently nominated for Best New Act at the Q Awards, they are currently on the last leg of their UK and Europe headline tour. The band will also be heading back to Japan in November where they will play the Hostess Weekender in Tokyo and Osaka alongside the likes of Bloc Party, Mystery Jets and Daughter.

All shot through with pulp imagery torn from the pages of a graphic novel.
