Villagers’ Conor O’ Brien has announced two upcoming London performances - Ceiliúradh at the Royal Albert Hall this Thursday 10th April and David Lynch-Revisited at The Barbican on 20th June.

On the historic occasion of the first State Visit by the President of Ireland to the United Kingdom, President Michael D. Higgins will be guest of honour at Ceiliúradh, a special evening of music, spoken word and dance at the Royal Albert Hall featuring some of Ireland's finest musicians, singers, actors, authors and poets. Conor O'Brien will perform alongside Imelda May, Lisa Hannigan, Donal Lunny + very special guests. The event is now sold out.

On Friday 20th June, Conor O'Brien will be performing songs at the "David Lynch - Revisited" event at The Barbican; the world premiere of a new live homage to the songs and music from David Lynch’s films. From the romantic songs of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, to the violence of iconic scenes in Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart or Lost Highway, sound is a vital component of David Lynch’s films – it’s in the wind, in the air, and in the people’s thoughts; his carefully chosen songs conveying his characters’ mental states. Lynch’s songbook includes original versions by Roy Orbison, David Bowie, Chris Isaak, Samuel Barber, Marilyn Manson and Elvis Presley. In Dreams brings together a stellar cast of singers to reinterpret these classic songs. Tickets are available HERE

Having won Ireland’s prestigious Meteor Choice Music Prize for {Awayland} last month, Villagers are set to release their new, James-Ford produced single, ‘Occupy Your Mind’ on limited edition clear vinyl on Record Store Day. The 7” release will be backed by new track ‘Beatitudes’ exclusively for the occasion. Originally written in support of the lgbt community in Russia on the advent of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, ‘Occupy Your Mind’ is a standalone single, not featuring on either of Villagers’ Mercury Music Prize-nominated albums {Awayland} and Becoming A Jackal.  Taking place on April 19th, Record Store Day celebrates the art of music around the world, bringing independent retailers and artists together for a series of events and releases.
