DOMINO CRYSTAL ANNIVERSARY CONCERTS AT LONDON'S BARBICAN

Wild Beasts, Tricky, Max Tundra, Liquid Liquid, Junior Boys, Juana Molina | Posted: 14/07/08

The word 'special; can get banded around quite flippantly nowadays; special someones, special price, special reports, "A special new band" but when something genuinely special happens, the proper reaction seems to be an immediate hush of contemplation and then a frenzy of activity.

So, with anticipated hush, we're delighted to announce three very special concerts taking place at London's Barbican Centre marking Domino's Crystal Anniversary.

Sat 4 October
Liquid Liquid + Junior Boys + Optimo

The first London show featuring the original line of famed New York post-punk band – Liquid Liquid. Since they acquired cult status back in the early 80s, re-defining early dance music and famously providing inspiration for one of early hip-hop's biggest hits, their echoing vocals and tribal beats have seeped into the sounds of Animal Collective and LCD Soundsystem amongst others.

Support comes from Junior Boys, Canada's infectious electro-pop duo whose new record released will be released on Domino in the new year.

Clubstage: Optimo DJs, whose new ‘home listening’ album will be released on Domino in October.

Sun 5 October at LSO St Luke's
Juana Molina + Max Tundra

Fans of Juana Molina are well aware of her inventive, beautiful body of work and reknowned performances, which are a three-way exchange between the artist, the audience and whatever the moods dictate. Juana’s glorious new Un Dia album will be released on the 6th of October.

Max Tundra – Ben Jacobs to family and friends – has journeyed far from self-taught pianist, exploring electronica via lo-fi music software, remixing the likes of Franz and Pet Shop Boys to giving the world a set of dense, multi-textured emotionally-charged tunes to cherish.

His new opus, Parallax Error Beheads You will be released on 13th of October.

Mon 6 October
Tricky + Wild Beasts

A Capital return for Tricky and his formidable trademark sound of moulded styles and genres performing classics from his past catalogue as well as epics from his current album Knowle West Boy.

Supported by the maverick charms and distinctive vocal talents of Wild Beasts as explored on their magnificent debut album Limbo, Panto.

In anticipation of frenzied activity; the Barbican have officially granted dancing in the aisles, balconies and stalls.

Tickets are available directly from the Barbican for all shows
