The Amazing Snakeheads | 26/02/14

Image: TAS Announcement

Domino is proud to present Amphetamine Ballads, the debut album from Glasgow’s The Amazing Snakeheads, which will be released on 14th April 2014. A monument to the redemptive powers of rock 'n' roll - full of rage, romance and dark humour - Amphetamine Ballads is an uncompromising, astonishingly visceral debut album. Watch the album trailer HERE.

The Amazing Snakeheads - Dale Barclay, William Coombe and Jordan Hutchinson - are truly a force of nature. On stage, Dale appears possessed by music, rock’n’roll channelled through every sinew in his body. “I genuinely don’t know where the music comes from,” says Dale. “How I play music - live or in the studio - it is what it is and I struggle to know where it comes from. There's been a lot of things written about the band, people say we're angry and things like that - but to me it's just us. There's a hell of a lot of joy in the music.”

Amphetamine Ballads is the soundtrack to the dark corners of nightclubs and those dimly lit alleyways off the main drag. The smell of smoke and liquor pervades everything. Recorded at night time at The Green Door Studio in Glasgow, this is a subterranean record – an album that can show you round the parts of a city that come alive after dark.

Amphetamine Ballads will be available on CD (WIGCD316), Digital (WIG316D) and on limited edition LP (WIGLP316X) which comes with a bonus 7” of Here It Comes Again b/w Stud. The album is available to pre-order from Dom Mart, HERE, and from iTunes HERE.

The tracklisting for Amphetamine Ballads is as follows:

1 I’m a Vampire

2 Nighttime

3 Swamp Song

4 Here It Comes Again

5 Flatlining

6 Where Is My Knife?

7 Every Guy Wants To Be Her Baby

8 Memories

9 Heading For Heartbreak

10 Tiger By The Tail

Real Estate | 18/02/14

Image: Real Estate

Real Estate release Atlas, their highly anticipated third album, through Domino on March 3rd and have today shared another glimpse of its many charms in the shape of new song "Crime."

To accompany the song the band has created a loving homage to the classic Youtube Guitar Tab tutorial format with singer/guitarist Martin Courtney and guitarist Matt Mondanile performing their respective guitar parts. The video was filmed by Charles Poekel and Brooke Salisbury and edited / animated by Natalia Stuyk.

Watch the Guitar Tab video HERE.

A shimmering, intricate pop song that is at once immediate and meditative, "Crime" is perhaps is a perfect three minute encapsulation of everything that has made Real Estate so endeared to their devoted fanbase.

The most collaborative Real Estate record to date, Atlas was written by Martin Courtney, Matt Mondanile, Alex Bleeker and Jackson Pollis while cruising through the Arizona desert and during a presser in Madrid, in a practice room in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and in an attic in the band's hometown of Ridgewood, New Jersey. It was recorded in the summer of 2013 in Chicago with Tom Schick (Sean Lennon, Low, Cibo Matto) at Wilco's loft studio where new member Matt Kallman (formerly of Girls) joined the fold on keyboards.

Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks | 10/02/14

Image: Avey Tare Announcement

Domino is proud to announce the debut album, ‘Enter The Slasher House’, from Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, released on April 7th 2014, (April 8th in the US).  Listen to ‘Little Fang’, the first single released on the same day, HERE.

Slasher Flicks by name alone is not what it appears to be. Scrambled horror film soundtracks? Not even remotely. A bunch of East Coasters making their quintessential LA album? No, more like escape from LA, say guitar-wielding lead singer Avey Tare (of Animal Collective), keyboard player and singer Angel Deradoorian (of Dirty Projectors, Deradoorian), and drummer Jeremy Hyman (of Ponytail, Dan Deacon). If LA is an environment to get lost in, as they claim, this group sewing roots in SoCal have become lost in the best way: relocating and reinventing sounds they’re already skilled in making, sounds that as Avey Tare says, are not only regionally unrestricted but that “come from a place that’s not human.”

Having composed the bones of these eight songs on acoustic guitar, Avey Tare invited Deradoorian to create melodic lines to flesh them out. Then, enter Hyman, whose backgrounds in painting and music proved his rare combo of flexibility and acuity, “free but structured”. Uniquely its own “jazz power trio,” Slasher Flicks produced and recorded the songs live at the Lair studio using only minimal overdubs; the live sound being key to Slasher Flicks’ spooky dynamism.

While their sound is monstrous and there are nightmarish moments peppering the lyrics and melodies, Little Fang’s clean guitars, soft everything and special smoke called "PYT" blown into the tape machine shows off spirits conjured from sweeter worlds. LISTEN TO ‘LITTLE FANG’:

The band will head out on a North American tour following the album’s release. All US dates are below and a special ticket and album bundle is available to purchase now from the band's site, which also contains live performance footage. Following Animal Collective’s headline show at Field Day last year, the festival is very excited to welcome Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks to perform at this year’s event on 7th June 2014. More UK and European dates are yet to be announced.

Owen Pallett | 06/02/14

Image: Owen press photo

We are pleased to announce the new album from Owen Pallett, In Conflict, on May 12th, 2014 (May 13th in the US)  In Conflict was written and produced by Pallett, recorded with the core rhythm section of Robbie Gordon and Matt Smith, and features contributions from Brian Eno and The Czech FILMharmonic Orchestra, amongst others.

Watch the illuminating album trailer HERE.

In Conflict is full of love songs - more specifically, songs about liminal states and our loved ones locked in battle with them.  “The record is meant to approach ‘insanity’ in a positive way,” Owen says - emphasis on the ironizing scare quotes around singular notions of insanity.  “Depression, addiction, gender trouble, and the creative state are presented as positive, loveable, empathetic ways of being.  Not preferable, per se, but all as equal, valid positions that we experience, which make us human.”

Pallett was recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score, alongside Arcade Fire, for their work on Spike Jonze’s Her.  While Pallett has served as a versatile collaborator to many projects in both pop and art establishments— the list is far too long to recite here, but you know where to look— he is equally beloved for his accessibility; for the way his art reflects & resonates with Mainstream Pop Culture; for the emotionally cathartic outlet his music provides.

In Conflict will be available on May 12th (13th in the US) on CD (WIGCD304), Digitally (WIG304D), standard edition LP (WIGLP304) and on limited edition double LP (with three bonus tracks) (WIGLP304X) through Dom Mart. You may pre-order the album through Dom Mart HERE and via iTunes HERE

Domino is proud to announce the debut album from Liverpool’s We Are Catchers. The first single ‘Tap Tap Tap’ will be released on 7” on March 17th. The self-titled album will follow on March 24th

Watch the video for ‘Tap Tap Tap’ HERE.

Tripping across oceans of sound, We Are Catchers effortlessly melds the cascading melodies of the Pacific coast to the kind of stargazing melancholy that’s always haunted Liverpool’s greatest artists. It’s an album that looks out from the Water’s Edge and dreams its way across seas and continents, traversing the invisible (but undeniable) pathways that connect the mid-west coast of England to the west coast of the USA.

A beautiful, timeless collection of songs, We Are Catchers (real name Peter Jackson) summons up the spirits of legendary Mersey beasts like Mick and John Head, the Crucial Three, Bill Ryder Jones, Lee Mavers and the Wild Swans whilst chiming gorgeously with dusty echoes of records by Brian Wilson and Arthur Lee. The aforementioned Bill Ryder-Jones also appears on the album, playing guitar.

We Are Catchers will be released on March 24th on Domino. Pre-order the album on CD (WIGCD288), LP (WIGLP288) and digitally (WIG288) HERE. ‘Tap Tap Tap’ (RUG574) will be released on 7” on March 17th.

Fránçois & the Atlas Mountains | 04/02/14

Image: Francois LA VÃRITÃ

To coincide with the new album Piano Ombre from Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains on March 17th, La Vérité will be released as the first single on the same day. The video was directed by Mathieu Demy who directed the 2011 film Americano which starred Salma Hayek . He is also the son of film-making royalty Agnès Varda and Jacques Demy, the latter of which wrote and directed the French classic The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

“Here is our new music video directed by Mathieu Demy. It could be called: ‘When the Love Boat is sinking we're still singing’ Hope you enjoy” – Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains.

Piano Ombrethe follow-up to E Volo Love , is Frànçois’ first album to be recorded in a bona fide studio (in Entre-Deux-Mers, the ‘Between-Two-Seas’, region near Bordeaux in France) and with a producer (Ash Workman – Metronomy / NZCA Lines). The album was written in the South West of France (where Frànçois lives once again after moving home from his adoptive Bristol) and features his current line-up of Atlas Mountains - multi-instrumentalists Amaury Ranger and Pierre Loustaunau, drummer Jean Thevenin (all Frenchmen) and Glaswegian keyboardist Gerard Black.

Piano Ombre, which translates as Calm Down Shadow (meaning to ‘no longer be scared by things, because there is a way to see things in a positive light’), was written during a tumultuous year in Frànçois’ life.

Lyrically, the album documents another journey, of personal struggle, discovery, conviction and resolution, however the darkness of the lyrics is counterbalanced by the bright, airy and upbeat production.

Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains will be bringing their fantastic live show to the UK and Europe this Spring, as follows:

Cass McCombs | 21/01/14

Image: Cass McCombs Unearthed video

Following the release of the 'Brighter feat. Karen Black' video, we're honored to share a new video directed by Eric Fensler for Big Wheel and Others' track 'Unearthed.' Watch the video below. The two previously collaborated on the video for Catacombs' 'You Saved My Life.

We don't want to over explain it, but simply put, a viewer's patience is rewarded with a minimalist storytelling jewel. Fensler explains:

"The story of the video is simply up to the viewer to discover and interpret.  The visual accompaniment to the song wasn't made to be explained in a press release, sorry.  Lets all have a little mystery for once.  I suggest simply putting on some headphones on or go home and go full screen on that totally kick-ass home theater system you have and relax for three minutes to a cogitative music video. Hopefully it will make you stop and think for a moment."

Cass McCombs and his band  featuring Jon Shaw (bass), Daniel Iead (guitar), Daniel Allaire (drums) are currently on tour in Europe and soon to be in Australia and have now announced new US dates in April. Find all the dates below the video.

You can purchase Big Wheel And Others via all good record stores, iTunes and the Domino Mart

The Bohicas | 20/01/14

Image: The Bohicas main

The Bohicas’ single ‘Swarm’, backed with previous single ‘XXX’ is released today as a digital double A-side (and on 7” on 3rd March).

To coincide with the release, a new video for ‘Swarm’ backed with a premiere of brand new track, ‘Crush Me’ is available to view now. Shot in London by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern whose portfolio includes music videos for Arctic Monkeys & Franz Ferdinand as well as feature length films for LCD Soundsystem (Shut Up And Play The Hits) and Blur (No Distance Left To Run), the newly shot, fully live performance film captures The Bohicas in a way not seen on video before.

Watch the video for ‘Swarm / Crush Me’ HERE

‘Swarm / Crush Me’ follows an ambitious music video for ‘XXX / Swarm’ (directed by Andy Soup) which quickly caught fire online when launched in November 2013 providing a filmic introduction to The Bohicas’ world, but very little of themselves. This new video reveals much more of the band.

The recorded-live audio of both tracks featured in the video for ‘Swarm / Crush Me’ is available for free download at the band's website

The Bohicas will play the following London shows:

28th January: White Heat @Madame JoJo’s, Soho, London (TICKETS)

27th February: Black Heart, Camden, London (TICKETS)

‘XXX / Swarm’ available now as a digital single (RUG573D) HERE

Austra | 17/01/14

Image: Austra Hurt Me

Austra have shared a video for the track Hurt Me Now, taken from their second album, Olympia. Watch it premiering on Dazed Digital HERE.

Katie Stelmanis said of the video:

"Working with M Blash is a rare experience. I like to give him a song and let him do whatever he wants cause when his mindflow is undisturbed the results are psychedelic and matchless."

Olympia is an album of transformation; it presents a quantum evolution in the Toronto-based band’s sound, structure and style. Olympia is also the first confessional record for the principal songwriter/vocalist, Katie Stelmanis, whose heartfelt lyrics touch on a range of sentiments that stem from a relationship ending, a relationship beginning, and friends' struggles with addiction and motivation.

Written and recorded in collaboration with members of Austra's touring band, the album takes influences from musical sources including South American wind ensembles, eastern folk music, 80s industrial and Chicago house. Olympia remains a pop record of deep layers and subtle gesture; one that requires patience to absorb the nuance to be found within its layers.

Austra is Katie Stelmanis, Maya Postepski and Dorian Thornton.

Fránçois & the Atlas Mountains | 16/01/14

Image: Fatam album annonce

We are pleased to announce the release of the new album from Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains, Piano Ombre, on March 17th 2014. La Vérité (RUG579D) will be released as the first single on the same date. Listen to La Vérité, HERE.

Piano Ombre, the follow-up to E Volo Love , is Frànçois’ first album to be recorded in a bona fide studio (in Entre-Deux-Mers, the ‘Between-Two-Seas’, region near Bordeaux in France) and with a producer (Ash Workman – Metronomy / NZCA Lines).

Piano Ombre is a stunning and wide-reaching collection that reinvigorates the band’s gene pool of influences - from Afro-pop to French chanson and Yé-yé, mixed with more Anglo-phonic guitar-pop, like an aural atlas of gorgeous pop melody, zestful rhythm and lush ballads. It also manages to capture the ecstatic energy of the band’s live performance. The result is Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains’ most sophisticated, arranged album yet. Watch the trailer for the album, HERE.

Piano Ombre will be available on CD (WIGCD321), LP (WIGLP321), Digital (WIG321D) and limited edition vinyl with a bonus 7” featuring two exclusive tracks, Sleepwalkers Town and Bus Rouge (WIGLP321X). The iTunes edition (WIG321D1) will feature the two bonus tracks as well as an instant grat of La Vérité. Pre-order the album through Dom Mart, HERE and through iTunes, HERE.

The tracklisting for Piano Ombre is as follows:

Real Estate | 14/01/14

Image: Real Estate Announcement

Atlasthe new album by New Jersey's Real Estate, arrives through Domino on March 3rd 2014. A triumph of highly evocative, perceptive songwriting and graceful, precise musicianship, Atlas carefully refines, and ultimately perfects, the brilliantly distinct artistic vision that made its predecessors Days and Real Estate so beloved.

Atlas is intimate and spare. It conjures quiet, late-night drives down wooded highways, rural rambles with friends (and maybe a love interest) on the sunniest afternoons of the year, and hazy summer evenings spent alone, thinking back to those times and the people who were with you for them. You can catch glints of Galaxie 500, Little Wings, Luna, Neu, Nick Drake, and Pavement, and also Fairfield Porter, Milton Avery, and Albert York. It’s a precise and taut, uniquely American variety of impressionism, cut through with a melancholia that can feel variously heartbreaking and newly wise.

The cover seems important. It shows sections of a mural by a Polish artist named Stefan Knapp that hung for more than 30 years outside a department store in North Jersey that went under in the ‘90s. For a time it was regarded as the largest mural in the world. The band grew up a few minutes away and spent years driving by the abandoned building and its monumental painting.

Atlas will be released on March 3rd 2014 and will be available on CD (WIGCD320), LP (WIGLP320) and digitally (WIG320D). iTunes pre-orders will come with an instant download of ‘Talking Backwards’. Pre-order through iTunes HERE. A limited edition deluxe LP with a bonus 7” will also be available from selected independent stores and through Dom Mart (WIGLP320X). Pre-order HERE.

Image: Cass McCombs Press

Ahead of his headline performance at Queen Elizabeth Hall tonight in the framework of his latest UK tour, today appears the second of four videos to appear this month from Cass McCombs, and this one's something special.

Featuring a tour-de-force vocal performance by the late Karen Black,Brighter!’ is one of the highlights of McCombs's latest album, Big Wheel And Others, and the video directed by the iconic actress and singer's surviving husband, director Stephen Eckelberry, is a moving tribute to her unique legacy. Eckelberry explains:

“Cass McCombs emailed me in late November 2013 and asked if I would create a music video for ‘Brighter!’ - the song he recorded with Karen in December 2012 - using classic clips from her movies.  It struck me as an opportunity to explore a theme that interests me - the relationship of film and memory. We watch a movie and the images from that movie become part of our memory stream.”

My own memories of Karen are intertwined with memories of her in films - it gets messier for me since I directed several movies she was in - which memory is stronger; Karen during making the film or what ended up on screen?  An image came to me: Cass himself becoming a screen for the projection of images of Karen - as if his memories of her were playing themselves out over his body.

I found a clip I had shot with my iPhone when Cass was over at our house rehearsing the song with Karen, and I combined that with clips of her movies, some iconic, some more obscure, and I weaved in footage of fire, sparks, burning...  The song does seem to deal with hell, or is it the hell of fame?”

Black, who passed away on August 8th, 2013 after battling ampullary cancer, had a long and storied career filled with accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in Five Easy Pieces and a Grammy nomination for her contributions to the soundtrack for the Robert Altman-directed Nashville. ‘Brighter!’ was the second collaboration between McCombs and Black, the first being her hauntingly memorable contributions to "Dreams-Come-True-Girl," a standout track on McCombs's 2009 album, Catacombs.

Wild Beasts | 07/01/14

Image: Present Tense Announcement

Domino is proud to present the fourth album from Wild Beasts, Present Tense, released on 24th February 2014. The album opener, Wanderlust, will be released as the first single on the same day.

Present Tense is a dramatically new album – taking cues from the most intense and effervescent of 1980s and 1990s electronic sound but rethinking and retooling these elements with exquisite detail for the 21st century.

Longer in creation than any of its predecessors, Hayden Thorpe, Tom Fleming, Chris Talbot and Ben Little took almost a full year away from touring to conceive and construct the eleven tracks of Present Tense. Written in London and recorded at Konk Studios in London and at The Distillery in Bath, the band worked in close collaboration with co-producers Lexxx and Brian Eno protégé Leo Abrahams to create a record of astounding intricacy, coherence and emotional resonance.

Alongside its breathtaking leap in production, Present Tense also finds the band at the peak of their considerable songwriting powers – each one of the album’s eleven tracks illuminating the precious, tender, sad and funny moments of modern life in their trademark plain-spoken poetics.

Already rightly considered to be one of contemporary Britain's most innovative and vital bands, Present Tense sees the group's ever-restless collective muse lead them to remarkable new heights - boldly embracing new production techniques and songwriting forms whilst retaining the thrilling idiosyncrasies that have made them so beloved over the course of three beguiling and beautiful albums to date.

Present Tense will be available on CD (WIGCD279), Digital (WIG279D), LP (WIGLP279) and Deluxe LP with bonus 12” (WIGLP279X) featuring remixes of Wanderlust by Factory Floor and The Field.

Pre-order the album digitally or via Dom Mart to receive an instant grat of Wanderlust. The single will be available as a four track digital bundle (RUG573D1) from 24th February with a new song, Byzantine, plus remixes from Factory Floor and The Field.  Buy ‘Wanderlust’ HERE.

Cass McCombs | 06/01/14

Image: Cass Announcement WEB

Cass McCombs today premieres the video for "Big Wheel", the (almost) titular track from "Big Wheel and Others", his most recent album. Shot by Cass's long-term friend and collaborator Albert Herter in New York, California and China, its chaotic, clashing imagery and oblique sloganeering are the perfect accompaniment to a song that see McCombs subtlety yet powerfully dismantle generally agreed notions of Western masculinity and identity with his uniquely irreverent wit and insight.

Well versed in the practice of visually representing the Cass way, Herter's previous collaborations with the artist have come in the form of the beautiful illustrations that adorn the cover of "Big Wheel and Others" as well as the cover art of 2011's astounding albums "Humor Risk" and "Wit's End."

The twenty-two song long 'Big Wheel and Others' is a marauding marvel of great beauty, insight, humour and mystery that truly sees McCombs at the peak of his mercurial powers - his restless muse making stops at all the strangest, most singular roadsides of rock and roll, blues, jazz, country and more on its nomadic quest for human truth and understanding. In equal parts bucolically gorgeous and thrillingly roughshod, mischievously obtuse and devastatingly direct, painfully personal and cosmically universal, 'Big Wheel...' is the perfect distillation of over a decade's worth of creation and chaos in the life of a true pillar of the American underground.  You can buy ‘Big Wheel And Others via all good record stores,  iTunes and via Dom Mart.

As an album, Between The Walls captures the sound of a band 'playing' together, in both senses of the word - experimenting and trying things, being playful, as much as being a group performing as a unit together and now that can be experienced live.

Between The Walls is on CD (WIGCD292), LP (WIGLP292), DL (WIG292D). Order HERE

Matthew E. White | 16/12/13

Image: Matthew E White press

Last night, Matthew E. White and his marvellous band wrapped up what has been a banner year with a hometown show in Richmond, Virginia and today we celebrate further with the release of the "Human Style" video.

One of the highlights of Big Inner: Outer Face Edition, "Human Style" is a simmering, silken come-on of a pop song - simultaneously boasting some of White's most direct songwriting and his most experimental production to date. The video, directed by Tony Forgey, collects some sumptuous behind-the-scenes footage and photography from the Outer Face recording sessions in White's much-celebrated Richmond, VA Spacebomb studio - offering a unique insight into a unique artistic community and their creative process.

Watch "Human Style" here.

Meanwhile, Big Inner, continues to win hearts and minds in the end of year polls including the GuardianRough Trade  and Resident for whom it is their #1 album of the year

Finally, follow Matt's great Tumblr for all things Big Inner, Outer Face & Spacebomb

THE CHILD OF LOV 1987 - 2013

Image: TCOL news

It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Double 6 recording artist The Child of Lov. His talent and friendship are a heavy loss to us, but we will always carry the pride of having been involved in his short but particularly bright recording career.

His manager Trey Reames, made the following statement today: "On behalf of the family and as his manager I must announce that Martijn Teerlinck, aka Cole Williams, aka The Child of Lov, aka Sun Patzer, is no longer with us. He lived a life of struggle and can now rest peacefully. In his own words: 'When I was younger, I had a tough time physically. I have seen too many hospital beds. It made me stronger. Makes you realize death is always near, for anyone. And what a wonderful thing life is and how grateful we should be.'"

Cass McCombs | 13/12/13

Image: Cass McCombs

This year has seen legendary US singer-songwriter Cass McCombs release his most encompassing statement to date with critically acclaimed double album Big Wheel and Others.

Following the breezy 'There Can Be Only One' and the late Karen Black-featuring 'Brighter!’, comes new, half-title track single 'Big Wheel'. A rollicking album opener of muscular country rock that confronts questions of masculinity and Western mythology with Cass's irreverent insight and with, it’s as a compelling opening statement for an endlessly rich album characterized by a loving correspondence with Americana songwriting traditions, the great outdoors and life on the road.

                                       STREAM “BIG WHEEL”

UK fans will be able to catch the Cass McCombs' singular magic in performance when he plays a handful of exclusive dates in January.

Cass McCombs tour dates:

08.01 - Colston Hall, Bristol (tickets)

09.01 - CCA, Glasgow (tickets)

10.01 - Deaf Institute, Manchester (tickets)

11.01 - Workmans Club, Dublin (tickets)

13.01 - Queen Elizabeth Hall, London (tickets)

The twenty-two song long 'Big Wheel and Others' is a marauding marvel of great beauty, insight, humour and mystery that sees McCombs at the peak of his mercurial powers - his restless muse making stops at all the strangest, most singular roadsides of rock and roll, blues, jazz, country and more on its nomadic quest for human truth and understanding.

Blood Orange | 12/12/13

Image: Blood Orange

Blood Orange – aka Dev Hynes – will be playing his first UK show in over two years at London’s Village Underground on 19th February 2014. Tickets will be available to purchase from Friday 13th December via the following link:

To celebrate, Blood Orange is sharing a new track entitled ‘West Drive (Profit Vocal Dub)’. Listen to it here:

Dev Hynes said the following of the track, ‘There are literally 7 versions of this song. This is 1 of roughly a million cuts that didn't make it onto the album "Cupid Deluxe". Additional vocals are by Samantha Urbani, and instrumentation and Production by me. Mixed by Blue. Note: percussion borrows heavily from "Ruins"’

Blood Orange’s sophomore album, Cupid Deluxe is available now.  The album was produced by Hynes in his adopted hometown of New York City, mixed by Jimmy Douglass, and features amazing guest appearances by David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), Caroline Polachek (Chairlift), Samantha Urbani (Friends), Clams Casino, Despot, Adam Bainbridge (Kindness), Skepta and many more.

Watch Dev do an in-depth interview with his pal, Karley Slutever, about the album, its influences, its themes, HERE.

Since the release of the Blood Orange’s debut, Coastal Grooves, Hynes has written and produced music for the likes of Solange, Sky Ferreira, MKS, and more.  Cupid Deluxe shows a more expansive aural palate than its predecessor while retaining the pop sensibilities that Hynes has showcased since his days in Test Icicles and Lightspeed Champion.  Simply put, Cupid Deluxe perfectly highlights why Hynes has become one of the most exhilarating and prolific voices creating music right now.

Jon Hopkins | 04/12/13

Collider, the nine-minuteastounding and subtly euphoric techno slayer’ (DJ Mag) - the dark, beating heart of the Mercury-nominated Immunity, is released as the next single from Jon Hopkins and is available to buy digitally now. ‘Collider – Remixes’, featuring mixes from Pangaea, Karenn and Objekt will be available on 12” (RUG562T) and Digital (RUG562D) from 24th February 2014. A one-track download of the Pangaea remix will be available from December 9th.

Watch the accompanying video, directed by Tom Haines, HERE.

Tom Haines explains the video: “Jon's music has a transportive quality, which can be blissful and expansive, but can also be internal, and more aggressive, and Collider is at this end of the spectrum. We wanted to create an internal journey, which was unflinching, singular and claustrophobic and at the same time liberating. The video is like a voodoo ceremony, where the lead character dances herself into frenzy, and through the dance gains access to a parallel dimension; it's her unfurling thoughts, her dislocated mind, and hints at something more apocalyptic - an end game for her and us.”

An Extended Edition of Immunity featuring videos and remixes will be available exclusively through iTunes from 9th December. The tracklisting is as follows:

1.            "We Disappear"

2.            "Open Eye Signal"
