GET ON JOLLY

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy | RUG109 | Released: 01/01/00

Image: get on jolly

Will Oldham in full self-reflective poetical mode, accompanied by Mick Turner (aka the Marquis de Tren) of the Dirty Three. The words were adapted from Rabindranath Tagore's book of devotional odds-and-ends, Gitanjal, the titles correspond to the verses on which the songs are based. Talk about derivative! This EP was the first release under the name Bonnie Prince Billy after the classic I See A Darkness full-length. Fragile and aching.
