This week Domino honours the blues/rock hellraiser and trailblazer Janis Joplin, who was born this week in 1943. Joplin's untimely death gave birth to the concept of the now infamous '27 Club' which is a term used to refer to musicians who have all died at the tender age of 27. The causes varied, but were often as a result of drug and alcohol abuse.

The full list is stated below which includes legendary artists such as Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and most recently Amy Winehouse. Gone, but most certainly not forgotten.

The playlist is bookended by the original and Chromatics cover of Neil Young's 'Hey Hey, My My' which contains the immortal line "It's better to burn out, than to fade away" which also appeared on Kurt Cobain's suicide note.
